  2. There are no wrong answers, but there are indefensible ones.

  5. No follow-up questions about feelings. That is a different deck.

Why couples love this game

Not every game needs to strengthen the relationship on purpose. Laughing together does it anyway — shared humour is one of the more durable things a couple has, and it needs new material occasionally. This deck is new material.

Tips to make it more fun

  • Commit to a specific answer. "It depends" is the only losing move.
  • This deck is excellent with another couple in the room.
  • Keep it to twenty minutes — it works better as a starter than a main course.
  • The best answers are the ones you have to defend for a full minute.
  • Add your own cards once you have run out. That is usually where the evening goes anyway.

Frequently asked questions

What are fun questions to ask your partner?

Ones with a stupid premise and a real answer — what crime you would be best at, what your reality show would be called, which of your friends would survive the apocalypse. The premise does the work; the answers are surprisingly revealing anyway.

How long does this game take?

About twenty minutes for all thirty cards. It works better as a warm-up before something longer than as a full evening on its own.

Can we play this with other couples?

Yes — it is one of the better double-date games, because everyone can join in and nobody has to say anything personal.
